Samsung Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5: Technical Specifications Leaked
Samsung will be using the Snapdragon 8 Gen 2 processor in both the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Z Flip 5 models. The new model will feature a performance core running at 3.36GHz, with other cores operating at frequencies of 2.8GHz and 2.0GHz, respectively.
The Galaxy Z Fold 5 is said to have a 7.6-inch internal screen with a resolution of 1768 x 2208 pixels. The device will feature a foldable Dynamic AMOLED 2x display protected with Gorilla Victus glass, and it will also have an IPX8 certification.
According to leaked information, Samsung has partnered with LG Energy Solution for the battery of its new models. In addition to LG Energy Solution, Samsung will also be sourcing batteries from Samsung SDI and China’s Amperex Technology Limited (ATL) for their 2023 foldable smartphones. However, due to the cost of two cells being used in the foldable designs of the Galaxy Z Fold 5 and Galaxy Z Flip 5, the total cost of the battery could reach up to $30, with one cell costing around $10-15.
Korean news site Chosun reports that Samsung will unveil its foldable models on July 26th. Analysts suggest that the company may have moved up the release date due to the launch of the Google Pixel Fold.
It is said that the device will measure 158.5mm x 67.5mm x 14.5mm-16mm in size, making it 3mm longer and 0.4mm thicker than its predecessor, the Galaxy Z Fold 4.
